About NAM

What is NAM?

Northumbria Advanced Motorcyclists or NAM is a registered charity (1099238) and a local group of the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM). Unlike some IAM groups which cater for both cars and motorcycles (or cars only), NAM is a motorcycles only group.

Our IAM group number is 4245.

The objectives of the club are to

  • Encourage motorcyclists to have a positive attitude towards Road safety and to improve the general image of bikers to other road users
  • Prepare motorcyclists for the Advanced Motorcycle Test
  • Provide a social focal point for members to share their common interest

To find out more about the group, please take time to look around this site, then come along to one of our monthly meetings and make yourself known to any of the group members, we will give you a brief introduction and answer any queries you may have.

If you would rather ask some questions before attending a meeting, then please visit our contact us page for more information.
