Meetings
Updated September 2, 2021
Our monthly meetings provide an opportunity to make friends, share experiences and to catch up on club news.
During the winter months, meetings are held on the second Monday of the month and often feature a presentation by a guest speaker. Previous speakers have included:
i2i Motorcycle Academy
Great North Air Ambulance Service
Everyone is welcome at our monthly meetings. Please feel free to come along and have a look at us! Check out our social event listing page
for details.
During the summer we prefer to be out on our motorbikes! Meetings take the form of evening rides, BBQs, chip shop runs, poker runs, treasure hunts, etc
Rideouts
Updated June 29, 2019
Social Rides
Our full members social rideouts take place on the third Sunday of each month throughout the ‘biking season’. Rides are typically 150-200 miles.
All rides are considered ‘Green Badge’ events; the standard of riding must be commensurate with membership of NAM and the IAM. Your motorcycle must be taxed, insured and have a current MOT (if appropriate).
All riders taking part must be familiar with the ‘drop-off’ system.
Guests
For insurance reasons, our social rides are restricted to riders who are full and current members of both the IAM and NAM.
Training Rides
We provide all members with opportunities to refresh, develop and build upon their advanced road riding skills in the company of an IMI-qualified National Observer.
Annual membership renewal is £20, due at the beginning of January. Prompt payment ensures that Training and Social teams can budget for and plan activities for the year.
Standing order forms and details of BACS transfers are available here
.
Subscription renewal forms, expenses forms and incident forms may be downloaded from the membership resources page
.
1-2-1 Training
All members are entitled to 1-2-1 refresher rides with an Observer. You do not need to contribute towards your Observer’s costs! This is one of the benefits included in your NAM subscription.
If it has been some time since you have taken your IAM Advanced Roadsmart test, or you just want a refresher ride, contact a member of the Training Team.
Did you know?
All members of the Committee, Training Team and Observers have their riding skills re-assessed every year. Book your free re-assessment!
